Scrollworks welcomes students of the following instruments. If you do not already have experience playing an instrument, please consider enrolling in Scrollworks Music School.

Strings - Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass

Percussion - Bells, Snare

Winds- Flute, Clarinet, Oboe (virtual only)

Brass- French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone (virtual only)

Guitar/Ukulele

Voice (virtual only)

No audition required. Offered on Monday & Saturday.

Must have completed through #75 in the All for Strings Book 1 (or equiv)

Must be willing to practice diligently.

Choir Open to all students at all levels. No audition required.

No audition required. Offered on Monday & Saturday.

Must have completed through #75 in the All for Strings Book 1 (or equiv)

Must be willing to practice diligently.

Chamber Wind Ensemble

No audition required. Offered on Saturday.

Must be willing to practice diligently

Magic City Youth Orchestra

Audition required. Rehearses on Saturday afternoon.

Audition requirements for Strings:

Have completed All for Strings Book 1 (or equivalent)

Memorize and play the following scales and broken thirds (Page 48 in All for Strings Book 1)

a. D, G and C major scales and broken thirds (MM=Quarter Note=120)

Play the selected Etude/Exercise provided by Ms. Peacock upon request.

Additional requirements for class:

Score at least 80% on written theory test

Be able to tune your instrument using any electronic device

Practice diligently

Additional requirements for class:

Score at least an 80% on the written theory test

Be able to tune your instrument to any given pitch using any electronic device

Practice diligently

Metropolitan Youth Orchestra

Audition required. Rehearses on both Monday evening and Saturday afternoon. Members must attend at least one rehearsal per week.

Audition requirements for Strings:

Have completed All for Strings Book 2 (or equivalent)

Memorize and play the following scales and arpeggios two octaves as written in book.

a. Be prepared to play whole notes and slurred eight notes.

b. MM=Quarter Note=120

c. Page 44 & 45 in All for Strings Book 2:

i. Major Scales -- C, G, D, A, F Bb

ii. Minor (Melodic) Scales - a, e, b, d g

iii. Chromatic Scales

Play the Etude/Exercise provided by Ms. Peacock upon request

Additional requirements for class:

Score at least 90% on the written theory test

Be able to tune your instrument to concert A pitch

Practice diligently

Additional requirements for class:

Score at least 90% on the written theory test

Be able to tune your instrument to any given pitch using any electronic device

Practice diligently
